Wintertide - A Christmas Concert by Candlelight

The Harborough Collective, directed by extraordinary violinist, composer and arranger David Le Page, weave a Wassail that whispers the arrival of Christmas and celebrates the Yule-tide. An atmospheric, magical and deeply evocative evening of festive music from across the world and through the centuries featuring stellar international harpist Eleanor Turner.

Silent Film Night - ‘Safety Last!’

Following the success of last season’s Silent Film Night the Le Page Ensemble presents a new soundtrack for Harold Lloyd’s iconic 1923 comedy Safety Last. Early booking is advised. A licensed bar will be open from 7pm.

‘Nightclub 1960’

The son of Italian immigrants, Astor Piazzolla was born in Buenos Aires in 1921 and went on to become the single most important figure in the history of tango. A virtuoso bandoneon player, he incorporated influences from the jazz and classical worlds into his revolutionary music which became known as ‘Nuevo tango’. We are joined by Argentinian bandoneon player Eduardo Garcia and guitarist Mark Ashford for this concert which will take you deep into the soulful and nostalgic world of South American Tango.

‘A Study in Choreography’ - !!POSTPONED!!

Composed in 2019, ‘A Study in Choreography’ is the score to two short films by Maya Deren, Ukrainian born dancer, experimental filmmaker and promoter of the avant-garde in the 1940s and 50s. Performed live here with the film this concert also features Debussy’s hauntingly beautiful trio sonata and Saint Saens’ famous dance of the dead.

Vocalist Clara Sanabras presents her new album ‘Fugue to the Floating World’, a stunning collection of songs written as a meditation on the transient world of love, magic and escapism; “Pitting the urge to fly free against the need for solid ground beneath our feet”. A truly diverse artist, Clara has collaborated with musicians such as Ray Davies, Nigel Kennedy and Jarvis Cocker and performed at venues worldwide including Buckingham Palace, the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall, Glastonbury and the Berlin Philharmonie.
